Hookers, Kooks, Jet Hots, etc... all do the job.

My favorite 3 (in no particular order) are FLP, QTP, and Kooks. All make an excellent good flowing setup IMO

As far as LT's they are hard to beat for the price. I read their site and quality seems good also. I have to check'm in person as I'm ready for a pair of LT's (I've reached the "ZONE", H/C swap)

OH MY GOD! You just linked a thread to the infamous LS1.COM

You are now in a LOT of trouble. My guess is that you will lose your membership to this board. If you publicly state that you are sorry for your actions, and that you will NEVER do that again, they [may] only give you probation. But I wouldn't count on it. Hurry up and delete the post!

Yes .... You are in big trouble!

Well Jet hots are looking good. What about the SLP headers are they any good? Or are they just hyped up junk?

slp's are junk; just look at the design. I have no clue what they were thinking. I used to own a set on my 01 SS when they 1st came out & got rid of them after 3 months. I'm running FLP's right now & the difference is very noticable. Kooks, PPC, Thunder Racing's LT's, & QTP's are all good choices.

I think Kooks, FLP, and Hooker all make great headers. There are alot more out there but FLP and Hooker have been time tested, the Kooks are newer but have shown some great results of late.

Slp's are junk? Not for bolt on and head/cam cars. Look at my bird. RUQWIKR is faster with macs for gods sake. I just saw a local with heads/cam/all bolt ons change from the slps to Qtp's with merge collectors and he gained 1 measly hp. He went from 417-418 with tuning. He runs a TR224 cam. Slp's are fine untill you get into the 450+rwhp levels. They make awesome midrange torque also. I would save some money and just buy the Pacesetters from Texas speed.

Here's a link to a post by a recent customer of PPC Long Tubes & 3" Y-pipe. And, some of the pics here too.

PPC INSTALL

All customers are getting right around 25 RWHP and 20 to 25 RWTQ on basically stock LS1s. PPC headers DO NOT require any removal of mounts, steering joints, etc...

The PPC test car got 25 RWHP & 21 RWTQ with a 35 degree higher ambient temp during the "after" numbers.

Details are posted in External Engine: PPC Dyno Results

Thanks,
Gordon

The best headers are still the Grotyohann LT's, 1 3/4" and 1 7/8".
The company that has been making them for Roger Grotyohann for 15+ years is still making them today. Thunder buys them, Proven Performance Concepts buys them, QTP buys them, from the same exact manufacturer in Massachusettes.

There awesome.

QTP for all out performance. Jet Hot for best bang for the buck. Coated and shipped to your door for $511. About 1/2 of coated QTP's.

FLP LT's get my vote. I love the interchangeable orp's and cats.

The old QTP's were the exact same. However, QTP is now selling there's as a stainless steel version.

This is correct, QTP no longer sells the original Groty header, from the original manufacturer.
