How beneficial is a 3" Y-pipe with stock cubes??
My current set-up is h/c/i (in my sig) and stock 346 cubes. I have 1 5/8" Longtubes with a 2.5" y-pipe. My current plan is to put in a dual 2.5" inlet and single 3.5" outlet Flowmaster merge, with a 3.5" cutout and then a 3.5"-3" reducer into a Magnaflow 3" catback. Is is worth putting a 3" Y on a 346 cube LS-1?? How does my "idea" set-up sound?

well, your exhaust right now is restrictive from the start. You would gain a significant amount of power switching to 1.75 inch headers,3" Y and so on.. But is it worth it the money your gonna spend .. Probably not

Yeah, when i got the headers, i just bought another car, got married, and bought a house. So i went with what i got a good price on that had a lifetime warrenty and was stainless, and i knew it wasn't a huge cube motor. I'll be getting a 408CID for it sometime, and when i do i know i'll get the 1 7/8. But for now...?

Pacesetter 1.700 headers 400$ 3inch X-Flow exshust piping around 300-400 for your model vehicle. Go with X pipes there great they use them in nascar for a reason. What the X shape dose is creates a a suction which pretty much sucks the exahust from your motor which means your motor dosent have to work nearly as hard. so you looking at 15~25 hp pending on what current mods you got. Also its a gas saver for a daily driver. Im getting mine done at the end of the month hopfully
