BBK Throttle Body question
Last night I picked up a LS1 EGR intake and BBK 80MM F body throttle body for cheap 120 bucks. My engine is from an 02 WS6 so no need for the intake but I will be using the throttle body. I noticed that there is no hole in the plate on these?
Is the IAC doing all of the work on these, or should it be drilled? I am running ported 243's and a 238/242 610/605 114LSA Cam and 37# Racetronix injectors if this matters.

IMO that IAC design is incapable of working well with a large cam. I've got a 239/242 on a 111 LSA and had all kinds of problems with idle, tip in response, idle hanging, and a cruise control effect with the BBK. I switched to a ported stocker and all those problems went away. It did however work well with my previous small cam.
My advice: Sell the throttle body and buy a ported stock piece.

The BBK T.B. that I had 3 years ago had a tiny gap between the blade and throttle to compensate for not having a hole in the blade..
I also had alot of Iac issues to that needed to be re adjusted..
I got rid of it last year and I dont miss having it either but the person that has it now is happy with it..
