Default 3.905 rings on 3.898 pistons

I bought a set of 3.905 Diamond pistons and rings for my new build. Well, I had to change directions and decided to sell the Diamond pistons and reuse the stock pistons. So, I was wondering if I could use the 3.905 rings on my stock 3.898 pistons. They are file fit rings anyway and by my calculations I would only have to file .022 extra off the rings.

Yes, you can use them. It just means that you have to file a little bit more.

Be sure to go slow and continuously install the rings to recheck your measurements.

It'll be a little higher tension, but it'll be fine.
