New engine with backfiring on start up?
Just finished installing the new motor LSX solid roller with a very large cam. I was hoping the old tune would allow me to start the motor without a lot of issues, until I could get it to my tuner. Once it started, it sounds like cannons are going off. I am guessing the old tune is causing the problem. Your thoughts???????????????

Is it really hard to start, and did you swap from the regular LS1 cam sensor to the one in the cover?

You need to swap the outside two wires on the extension harness. You will be pleasantly surprised with the result

There are 3 wires in the harness (brown, pink and red) The red and pink are on the outside and the brown is on the outside. So, change the red and pink wires, correct? Okay, I'll try that and see what happens. Thanks

The backfire ended up being 4 of my coil packs were backwards. I have a coil relocation kit, so you guys using the coil relocation kits make sure to number the coils before removing them off the valve covers so you don't put them on backwards.
