ticking after heads and cam
okay i have a ticking noise after installing the tsp 231-237 and stock ls6 heads with 7.400 hardened pushrods. the tick with come after i drive it for a few mins "20 mins", it will start off real quite then get louder. my oil pressure is shity at idle "lower than 20" but rises up to 40 while cruising.
i looked at a few vids on youtube of ticking and found an ls1 that sounded exactly like mine and a couple of guys commented the vid and said it sounded like a spark plug not tightened good.
some friends think that i need a new oil pump and the ticking is the lifters not getting enough oil to them.
WHAT DO YOU THINK!!!

I think you may have discovered the normal valve train noise that accompanies cam upgrades on Ls1's. Using a standard length PR w/o checking preload may be contributing to the noise. Welcome to the world of cammed LS engines. FWIW, an exhaust leak on the manifolds can sound a lot like valve ticking.

Check the oil pump o-ring. Did you replace it or reuse it, if it was reused then that is probably the reason you have a tick that starts after you drive it. See if it goes away after it idles for a while.
