Default Question about changing cams...X1 to G5x2 clone/almost

I have MTI stage 2 heads, w/the X1...i'm getting a SUPER PRICE (Cause he's trading in the car) on another cam...I want any suggestion or comments on whether I'm wasting my time or if this will make some good numbers...

232/235 .585/.591 112 is the cam I'm getting...slightly lower lift than the G5X2 cause of my milled heads...

What do you guys think I'll pick up if any??

Thanks,

I'd be suprised if you picked up anything worth talking about. What lobes does the cam in question have?

Josey,

I think you'll gain. I did almost the same thing as you - X1 to the bigger cam (couple degrees of exhaust duration more though) and with no other changes got an extra 17-20RWHP out of the cam swap. If your heads flow really strong in the upper lift areas you'll definately gain some (I have stage II LS6 heads.)

I predict you'll get somewhere around 12RWHP more being that your lift isn't significantly increasing and you're short on exhaust duration by a couple degrees.

Just cause it's 232 on the intake,doesn't make it a G5X-2 clone.
That's like saying because it has .595 lift on the intake,it is a G5X-2 clone when all the rest of the numbers are different.

Say it isn't so bud. LG just got that GP I posted about in your last thread. $389 plus ($10 for shipping to Houston) is what Lou said.

if the duration is the same, the lift is the same, and i believe even LG has said it is a comp xe-r grind, then what is the point? the characteristics of the cam profile are there. the only guessing initially was the ICL right?
