95k 99 T/A---- to H/C or not to H/C???
Im looking to put some more power into the TA in the near future. it just hit 95k n is still running hella strong (ran 320rwhp on mustang dyno Before the ls6).. i know the cam shouldnt be a prob, but anyone think doin the heads too will put too much on this 9 year old ls1???
fwiw the cars got bolt ons : LT headers, ory, magnaflow, elec cutout, ls6 intake, lid, and likely some UD pulleys soon.
its also got a full tune and a SS4500 stall with a .26 str that pulls like a motha.
I have also found an amazing local shop that im thinking of having port and polish the stock heads rather than go the 2500 route lol.
on the other hand i have been considering rather than dumpin all this into it now, save some cash and pick up a low mileage short block, then strip it out and build it fully forged like a beast for when the stock engine takes a crap.

I did a cam/stall/FLT/full exhaust/tune etc all at once. It was a **** ton of money. I wish I would have waited and got a shortblock. (In the sponsor sale section there is a HKE 408 for RIDICULOUSLY cheap at the moment.) But thats my opinion. If you are dead set on it, and the motor has been treated well, then there is no reason not to. There are many people running on high mileage H/C. (I am at 117k with mods in my sig done at 105k).

I think you would be able to get atleast 50,000 more miles out of that motor. install the h/c then while driving it for that 50,000 miles, build your NASTY motor youll have plenty of time to save and build while driving a pretty bad *** setup.

it would be much easier to lean towards the build if i had a damn garage! lol im sure i could find a way but... thx for the comments up!
what i also thought was at least i could build the shortblock while the h/c were on the car and if/when the time comes pull em off n swap em.
