Damaged reluctor wheel...how sensitive is it? Can it be fixed?
Anyone,
I just got a crank(used) and it's damaged...the reluctor wheel is bent.
If I bend it back, will it affect the crank sensor's ability to work correctly?...in other words, how sensitive is it?...
Thx in advance,
Stroker2112

This could be as big problem. Imagine getting the thing assembled and in the car only to have it not start and taking the whole thing apart again. Get a new wheel from GM. There is a tool from Goodson that helps clock it for you. If you can find a shop that has the tool already, that's better..but that's not a common tool.

The wheel is 50 bucks and any speed shop or machine shop should be able to replace it for you. Your car will not idle and it will backfire mine was knife edged on one tooth and i dident notice it cost alot of money to figure out what was wrong and to pull the motor and replace it
