Default Need clarification on REV 1116 spring issue

I hear you need new valve seals when using these springs. You're supposed to upgrade from a 2 piece to 3 piece valve seal...or vice versa. I can't remember the specifics because the original thread has been deleted for some time now. Anyway, it seemed that if you had a '97 or '98 Ls1 you didn't need to change your valve seals because you already had the right type. Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks.

Aren't the spring seats replaced with the rev package? If so, you need new valve seals, you'll destroy the old ones taking them off to change seats, plus, they only cost about $1 a piece.

The intake seal part number is 12533586 and the exhaust seal number is 12457652. They're used on the earily C5 and Fbody cars.
The REV spring kit does come with spring seats which is why you'll need to change to the earlier seals.

I'm not sure on the exact years, but going with 98 seals is pretty much a lock, I know 01-02 seals are a 1 piece being the seat at the seal. I think the rest might good, but 98 is a sure thing. These springs are awesome! They're a treat to install.

i just installed my rev duals last night, yes you need new vavle stems since you have to take the old ones off to install the new seats. i purchased a pack of 16 valve stems seals from thunder for 16 bucks.
