Default opinions on scat cranks?

this might not be ls1 related , but i was wondering what people who used these cranks think of them ( especially the cast cranks)?

not sure about cast.... Got my forged SCAT 4" crank for my LS1 back in early 99'. ran 50,000 miles on it now with no problems. from all I heard they are supposed to be really strong.

i run one of their 9000 series cast cranks in my 383. if you do a search on cz28.com about them then you will see some people are putting 600-700 horse on them with out breakage. Seems to be a very strong peice

So Scat makes a forged LS1 crank?

Who sells them and how much?

Only person I recall breaking the cast LT1 crank is Intmd8.

When I have talked to Scat on the phone, their cranks have been like $2800, and I think the Lunati cranks are a lot cheaper than that.

Can't comment on the LS1, but, from what I have heard, Scat cranks are a cheaper stroker crank compared to some of the other manufacturers like Cola, etc. Although they may be a budget stroker, I have never heard anything negative about them.

Again, I can't comment on the LS1 application. From what PSJ said, they certainly are not "budget" for the LS1 (if that's what he was referring to)
