My oil pressure after cam install is at 25-30... is this ok?
I recently did a cam swap and installed a ported oil pump and new o-ring... my pressure is at 25-30 at idle. my stock pump pushed 35-40.
my question is... is this enough oil pressure at idle?

ha I only have 12psi at idle but also I have a ragged out LT1. your oil pressure is fine you shouldn't have anything to worry about. you may of lost that small amount of pressure due to more oil clearance on your new cam I measured my stock cam journals and the ones on my new comp cam and it was .002 smaller on average.

after some resarch this is what i have come up with guys....
ported pumps MORE VOLUME = LESS PRESSURE
stock pumps LESS VOLUME= MORE PRESSURE.
so with a ported pump you are actually moving more oil with less pressure.... hope this makes sense.

Technically you have enough pressure. But I would be questioning if everything was installed correctly. I would want to see a little more pressure than that. If it were me I would call the supplier of the pump and ask them what numbers you should be seeing.

Yea she is coming apart hopefully next month I already got my new probe pistons and 6 inch eagle rods just waiting on the funds to get the machine work. Cam retainer plate hmm even if thats not it may be a good idea to replace it when I have the engine apart.
