Default 4" stroke/tray/pickup question

im building a 403 shortblock, and wont know untill i pull my engine to ck the clearance for the rotating assemb. to windage tray-i know sometimes theirs minor hitting, and adding a couple washers cures it-does that cause any problems with the pickup to pan clearance(or lack of)-i could prob meas the stock distance (caddy cts pan) and tweak it-im using ARP studs-instead of using jam nuts, i was thinking of making some sleeve spacers for all the studs under the tray, but i would need to est. the distance first-thanks
