Melling 10295 oil pump users in here please...
Hey guys, I am trying to find out if the Melling 10295 comes with two springs just like the 10296 does.
Some sites on the internet mention two springs with the 10295 but some sites that sell both the 295 and 296 only mention two springs for the 296.
I orderd a 10295 and it only came with a red spring installed. I want to find out if one spring is missing or if it only comes with one.
Thanks,
J

I've never used one, but according to Melling it should come with both springs.
From Melling:
From Melling:
High pressure performance upgrade for M295. Stock volume, 10% increase in pressure over M295 oil pump. The cast aluminum housing is CNC machined and hardcoat anodized. The cast iron cover is CNC machined and phosphate coated. The relief valve features a screw in valve plug with the optional lower stock pressure spring supplied. Uses stock 1-1/4” bolt on screen.

Thanks! I looked for that on their site but was unable to find it.
So I guess that means if I used the stock spring it wold basically be a M295 pump???
I have read that with the 10296 you should use the stock pressure spring unless you have a built/stroked engine. Is this the same case for the 10295?

You can use the "high-pressure" spring in a normal motor. My PSI is like 60 cold/on throttle. Hot idle is just above 40psi on a 145k motor. The pressure isn't "too high" and it won't "drain your oil pan".

The 295 is comparable to a stock volume pump and only comes with the high pressure spring installed. If you put the low pressure spring in the 295 it will be stock pump volume. 296 is a high volume pump, if you put the low pressure spring in it you get stock PSI but more volume.

What o-ring are you supposed to use with the 10295? It comes with a green one and a black one. There is a sheet saying it depends on the pick up tube. On their diagram it looks like we should use the green (thicker) o-ring but their black one is the same diameter as a stock one (i have a new stock one sitting next to both of them side by side).
