Engine rebuild tips
rebuilding my 2000 z28 with 82k milkes.Bought some z06 heads off a 01 vette,cleaned and milled 0.015 with 918 springs(unported) but with the triangles,ordering 224r TSP cam 114 LSA,edelbrock shorty headers and BBK ssi intake,does anyone know if the BBK intake is california smog legal and also,how much horsepower at the wheels would you guys estimate with this combo w/ a good tune? any input appreciated

i would guess anywhere from 360-370 depending auto or m6 on a dynojet. would be better if you bought a ls6 intake... then its a factory piece and shouldnt raise any questions at all. You may want to ask around but im not sure if the shorty headers are really worth the money... If you had ported heads with longtube headers the norm seems to be around 400-420. Not having long tube headers will hurt you, but i know your in cali...
Through a stock exhaust and welded in flowmaster (supposedly is no better then stock) and only a baseline tune my car put down 350 through an auto on a mustang dyno, which reads low. that was with mods in sig.

Pretty similar to my mods (in sig). I have 243's (off ebay), milled 0.015. I got 392hp on a dynojet. Blue plot is all the bolt on's. Red plot is with 243's & TR224.
