anyone running a Z06 cam in their LS1?
I didnt have any plans to do a cam swap but I found a good deal on an 03 Z06 cam with springs, injectors & pushrods in the classifieds. Theres sooo many different cams available for our engines & its very confusing as whats what. I dont want nothing too radical like a TREX, just something over stock thats reliable, not too hard on the valvetrain. What kind of gains should I expect? Is it neccesary to use the Z06 injectors too? I will be getting an LS6 intake as well. Thanks.

If you're only swapping the cam, it's not worth the trouble imho. The gains that are seen in the LS6 come more from the bump in compression and the cylinder head itself. The cam is the smallest part of that equation. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that cam only you'll only see 10-15 rwhp gain.
Oh yeah, the injectors are not necessary. I've got an entire LS6 in my car and I'm still running the stockers.

Thanks for the info guys. The guy selling the cam said first one that sends payment gets it. Well another member sent payment first so I am not getting that now. He's gonna refund my paypal. Sounds like that is gonna work out fine, if its not worth the trouble.
