Default Who's cut the deepest flycut in their piston and used it with success?

I'm curious because I think I may have cut my LQ4 piston too much haha! I'd like to know what is considered dangerous to try running with?

I cut my intake valve (LQ4 pistons) to .121" I thought I had cut it to .160" but double checked it. How much is too much for the LQ4's? What about LS1's?

why would you cut LQ4 pistons? They have a dish in them already.

Im running 59cc heads and a pretty big cam, they would still need some flycutting with this cam. I am just curious in general anyways. The dish in the LQ4 piston isnt that much at all

No it's not deep at all. CC wise it is about a -6.5cc dish but it is spread out across the entire piston which gives it a shallow depth in the dish. I see where your coming from now. Sorry for the questioning, I was just curious.

No biggie!! Id rather be too safe on the PTV side anyways!

I read that the LS1 pistons have about .250" of material at the top of the piston, and people have cut in the .100-.140" range on those, I wonder if the LQ4's have more material due to being designed for trucks???
