Anybody here got a Lunati 408 stroker?
I was wondering if anybody heres got a Lunati 408 stroker? I threw a rod and am replacing the engine and the pice for the 408 stroker I got isnt much more than a forged 346. I plan on having a local engine builder assemble the engine for me. Besides what comes with the kit is there anything else you need? It seems like a big stroke most of the larger cube motors ive seen have been iron blocks.

Re: Anybody here got a Lunati 408 stroker?
I've done a couple 408ci engines in the last 6 months. Its a 4.030" bore, 4" stroke Lunati kit. I don't use the whole Lunati kit anymore since the pistons are 13cc dish and if you deck the block, the pistons come way outta the bore. They are already setup for .007-.008 with a 9.240 deck height, and since most 6.0L blocks need to be squared for a performance build, sometimes up to .010" needs to be machined off. If .010" needed to be removed that would leave the piston at about .018" above the deck at TDC.
