Default How do I find out if my LQ9 block uses the shorter head bolts?

Like the title says, I bought a used 6.0 Block for my build. I have come into a problem when it was in the machine shop, They said It used the later cam bearings, evidently there is two types according to thunder racings website, one for use with the longer head bolts, and one for use with the shorter ones.

Has anyone been down this road before? I have some old stock bolts i could use to check or is there some other way to tell?

04 and later uses all the same length. On the front of the block, left side, right in front of where the head would be you'll see a casing number e.g. B252. That signifies the block was cast in Feb. 25th 2002.

From TSP's website

" If you are using a conventional LS1 or LS6 block manufactured before May 2004 you will need the long and short head bolts (p.n. 28-12498545)"
