Question back firing after head gasket change?

i just replaced the both head gaskets, plugs, and wires on my car. after i got it all back together i took it for a ride and there was hesitation at low rpm's and it seemed to back fire or pop when i shift gears. wondering if anyone has any ideas what could cause this? there are no ses lights and the oil pressure and temps are all fine. i'm getting ready to get out of the army and i'm trying to get my car ready for the move on saturday. thanks for any help.

Are you 100% sure you got the coil packs back in the correct order? Mine weren't marked anymore as the factory markings had fallen off and I forgot to mark them so when I put them back on I had this problem. Maybe you swapped the middle 2 coils on 1 side. I didn't have an SES light when I did that.
