Default 230/222 112* cam

Hi all.......to make a long story short, I bought this cam because i was told it was a TR230.........well its not

It is actually a 230/222 585/582 112*..........I have already installed it in the car, and it does feel like it has more top end than the TR220 i had in the car previously, but, what do the "experts" think about this cam? I DO have Hooker LT's, no cats, true duals, so there isnt much of an exhaust restriction.....but?

The cam has been tuned, and runs pretty good......some one convince me that this should be ok? Or should i be talking to Paul@ Thunder to get the "real deal"?

Thanks in advance for any/all responses

I doubt there will be enough gain to warrant swapping it out, but I would be pissed if it were me.

There is nothing wrong with that cam. The only difference between it an a TR230 is 2 degrees on the intake side. That is really nothing. That cam will probably make similar power since it has more lift. Run it and see how it does.

How do you know what the specs are? Did you doctor it?

where'd you buy the cam? new or used? jason99ta posted a dyno graph between the tr224, tr227, and the tr230, there was only a 5-8hp difference in tq from the 224 to the 230 and 10hp. the 227 was in the middle of course.

so i doubt you'll notice anything different then the 230, like damian said, theres only 2* more exhuast duration and 1* of lobe seperation. your cam has a higher lift.

JRP where is this dyno graph, I want to see it!

Id try a noter cam profile all together just to see what the car liek area under the curve. With the true duals you think it wouldnt need much exhaust side but one way to find out.
