Default How do people crate up motors?

For shipping them? Any pics of how it's done? I see people shipping them online all the time but always wondered how they crate them up.

Place it on a pallet and box it in to protect it from stuff flying around in the truck.
Most support them by the motor mounts with a 4X4 and bolts, block it up under the front by the crank, then strap it down Tight! with metal shipping straps. Insulate the straps with cardboard wherever they contact the engine.

If the flywheel is installed make sure you protect it to keep it from getting bent. The same goes for the crank pulley and accessories.

Heres what MTI's shipping container looks like. Very pimp with my 387 in it!

The engine bolts to the side of the "crate" using bolts that go in the bell housing bolt holes, and then the tope is bolted down, which you can sort of see next to it... it looks like a close copy of the bottom.

Chris, what kind of container is that? Know where anyone can get one? Are the short sides the "sides" you refer to in your post about where the bolts go through to secure the motor?
