Default Cartek stg IIx vs stock 317 on LQ9?

Ok, here are my options..... I am doing a budget build since my 383 blew up and I won't be building a new stroker for a few years......

I have a LQ9 long block, also have Cartek Stage IIx ported LS1 casting heads (getting them fixed now). I don't plan on flycutting the pistons to be able to run a big cam SO, what would make the most HP and can I run a bigger cam with 317's???

Option 1:
stock 317s on lq9 with what ever biggest cam that would work with out flycutting pistons

Option 2:
Cartek Stage IIx heads with "smaller"???? cam with out flycutting pistons

I am "assuming" I can run a bigger cam with the 317 heads, left stock and not removed from the motor. I know they will have less compression than the cartek heads. Wondering also how much better the cartek heads will flow vs the stock 317's considering the cartek heads are based off of the stock ls1 casting.

I will be running a cartek ported LS6 intake.

As a side note, I will most likely spray it with a 100 shot once in a while but really want it set up to run well on motor.

Car will be an A4 with yank SS3600 or SS4000 (still deciding)

Thanks for the help!

Default

btw, my cartek heads made 421 rwhp with 224/224/ .567 /113 cam with stock 5.7 ls1 bottom end. full Bolt ons with m6, 12 bolt with 4.11 (previous set up) so, looks to have made decent power with relatively small cam.
