here i go again
i decided not to go with the asp pulley because my stereo systems draws sum serious amperage i have it for sale on another forum, if it doesn't get sold there ill post it in here. while i had to rip my car apart again for the crank pulley, i figured i'd put an upgraded oil pump in, which i finished up. now time for that frggin pulley. i dont know what i do wrong but this is the 3rd time its worked its way loose. im gonna rent a 250ftib torque wrench and torque it to 240ftibs. and then put a new crank bolt in and strech the bolt 140degrees. if it works its way off again, i friggin had it. ill have no choice but to bend over and take the 80bucks an hour the hard way and bring it to a chevy garage.

I know someone is going to say I'm crazy.. but listen what I did. The first time I did a cam swap I was going down the interstate the next day on my way to the dyno and my ASP pulley flew off! Left me stranded on the road, my brother broght me my stock one, an old bolt, and my old belts.. I installed them on the side of the interstate in the rain.. all I had to tighten the crank bolt with there was a crappy ratchet, so I used red loctite on it. Since then I have taken the stock crank pulley off and installed an ASP, and I have taken it off twice for cam swaps.. every time using the same bolt and using red loctite. All I do is drive the car around some and let the crank get hot, then as soon as I pull it into the garage, get the breaker bar and loosen the crank bolt while it is still hot. This works for me and I have never had a problem doing it.
