New to the boards... and I gotta question.
Hey everybody, I'm new to these boards, found the website and it looked kinda interesting. I did a little reading and it seems like you guys know what you're talking about so i gotta question for ya.
I gotta 2001 Sierra with a 5.3L, and I was wondering if
1. I can swap heads from a 6.0L?
2. What will this do for me if I can?
3. Is there anything I need to do other that a simple swap?
If anybody knows, (which by the looks of the kinds of discussions that take place on here, i don't think it should be a problem,) I would really appreciate it. Thanx.

Why bother? Gains woul be minimal. Get ported 5.3 stage II's, you'll be better of. Have them milled a little and bump the CR.Might as well get a cam too.

Simply swapping the heads is gonna drop your compression ratio and may drop your power, too. You have a very highly sought after set of heads. Port those bad boys and look at a cam. A good setup will make great gains. Careful restraint is necessary when milling heads. Piston/Valve clearance and pushrod length become critical with milled heads.
