Lq9,60cc ported LS1 Heads, what cam w/o flycutting? what thickness head gasket????
I have a 2000 Z28 and I am doing a budget build with a stock LQ9 and am re-using my Cartek Stage II X ported ls1 heads with 60cc chambers.
I have a couple of questions:
How big a cam can I use with out flycutting the pistons?
What thickness head gasket should I use to have around 11.5:1 compression?
Given the limitations of Piston to Valve Clearance am I better off with more duration and less lift or the other way around to make more power? From what I can tell, I would probably be better off with more duration, but that appears to be the greatest effect on the clearance.....
Car is an auto with Yank SS3600 and 3.73 rear. This thing is going to be a toy, not a DD. I currently have a TR224 on a 114 in my 06 GTO DD and want something more agressive in my Z28.
Thank you!
