Hey guys,

I bought an rx7 last year with :

lq4 engine stock
1998 camaro a4 ecu dbc style
ls6 intake mani
unknown exhaust manifolds
2.5" exhaust with x pipe and some kind of older flowmasters
28.x injectors (ls6?)

hp tuners setup

4l60e 2200 stall, "the beast" ?? shift kit, corvette servos, alu driveshaft etc


Currently it has stock 317 heads on it AFAIK... somebody on here was selling

TSP stage 1 ls6 heads (243) w/ prc dual springs & ti retainers milled from 64? to 62cc i believe stock valves etc CNC ported
TR224 cam

I found the flow numbers online, the lq4 317's are rated at 4.xxx bore and the 243's @ 3.9xxx (smaller bore engine i get it)

So, first off, since my engine has dished pistons, will i be at 10.5:1 or 10.75:1 or what?

Secondly, with those heads/cam are they too unmatched to show decent results? I would love to still idle ok and be streetable (4.10 gears though.)

Should I just mill 317's and cam it? I'll still need springs retainers etc...

I assume I will need around 36-42 pound injectors at say whatever the stock ls6 fpr is at (35 psi?) and i probably need a walbro pump...

I remember a wrx with the lq4 + ls1 intake + 28.x injectors + ms4 = 400 whp or something...

Any chance that I could get this combo to 400whp? Would it be more? Less?

Here are the head #'s

.400" - int233 | 255 cfm ex164.9 | 187 cfm
.500" - int250 | 292 cfm ex174.2 | 202 cfm
.600" - int253 | 313 cfm ex184.4 | 220 cfm


only issue the ls6 head is rated at stock 3.9 bore 317 style is @ 4.010 bore

my engine is stock with a ms4, ls1 intake, truck manifolds, stock injectors with the stock wrx fuel pump made 391whp now
