Default Questions about new setup

Well, I pulled the trigger on a shortblock, and just need to figure out the rest of the details. I'm getting an LQ4 with a fresh rebuild and all ARP hardware. Right now, it has a TR224 cam in it, but, I'm wanting to go a little bigger. I'm thinking either a Torquer V.2 or maybe even a V.3. As for the heads, I think I'm going to end up getting the Patriot Stage III LS6's. Any ideas what kind of power I could put down at the wheels with either of those cams, with those heads and an LS6 intake? Also, any ideas on if I need to worry about any PTV clearance issues?

should be no clearance issues. and as far as the cam i am useing the tsp comp cam with a 600/605@ 50 112lsa. i am still on the stock 143 heads, intake, maf... basically my whole engine is still stock other than the cam and the custom 3 1/2" single exhaust, and the long tubes. and i put down a conservative 399.48 rwhp and 389.52rwtq. i would say go for it. i also got the package with the dual valve springs and titanium locks. as far as the rockers the ls1 has the 1000 hp capable ones from the factory. i would say you should be in the range of 430 to 450 rwhp when your done with that settup. i no by installing a set of ls2 heads on my ls1 i will be looking at 430 to 440 rwhp. if i put on a fast 90 i could see about 15 more if not even more. good luck in your choice. it sounds like your on the right track. just make sure when you go that big of a cam you get a very good tune like i did. i have the hptunners and the guy burnt my computer with the tune. and you will get a better running and better reliable car with it.. pm me if you want to talk more...

I think for the tune, I'll probably end up taking it up to SpeedInc, and let them dyno tune it. I've heard nothing but good things about them, and it's still somewhat close.

Alright, new idea. The LQ4 is coming tomorrow, and I think I'm going to end up getting some LS2 pistons to put in, and bump the compression. Since I'm on a pretty tight budget, I'll probably just end up with stock 243 or 799 heads. And I think I've decided on the Torquer V3. And estimations on power?
