Default 220 v. 224: which cam will pass smog easier?

tr220 or tr224?

My car is a daily driver and I want to reach my goal of 400+ rwhp yet maintain streetability and low maintenance. I'm pretty sure I can achieve both of those goals with either one of these cams with lt headers and heads.

Now, my main question, which one willl pass smog easiest? Is there really a difference since both are on a 114 lsa?

What kind of power difference could one expect with the 220 vs. 224 (all else being equal)? And what's the drivability/maintenance difference?

TIA

around 15rwhp would be the difference. both cams on a 114 LSA should pass no problem.

with LT headers, you need to worry about the visual

you could see around 380+rwhp with all the boltons with the 224

agreed 100%. the tr224 114 has passed clean with stage II 5.3 heads on ed's car. a 112 should pass with good enough tune.

my main things is gonna be my LT's and duals dumped

...emissions tests vary from state-to-state. In NY the test is really hard...

...220/220, 564/564, 112 did not pass for me intially...

I had to:

1. get LS1Edit and tune the car
2. run a bunch of injector cleaner for a few tank fulls
3. dump 12 bottles of dry gas into a 1/4 tank of gas with no injector cleaner

..even with this it just sqeeked through... 55 hydrocarbons to 60 allowed...

find out what the hydrocarbon limit is first...if it is 60 or lower, go with a very very minor cam....
