Looking to upgrade my first LSx
A friend and I are laying out a plan of attack for my C5Z. Thinking vararam, big MAF, ported LS2 Throttle body, FAST 92 intake, 1 7/8” kooks longtubes, I’m welding up catless aluminum midpipe with 3” cutouts to the stock Ti axle backs.
Question, should I just keep the LS6 heads and have them decked to bump compression, or just skip it and get a set of heads. If so what ones and cam recommendations too please?
I will upgrade the clutch of course. I’m looking for 450-480ish at the wheels. Sorry for the newbie questions. I appreciate your time and help!

looks like you have a good plan going.
my reccomendation, if your on a budget, send the 243's to Total Engine Airflow to have them do a CNC port job and valve job, i was quoted 400 for the CNC and 125 for the valve job, so 525 for a damn good set of heads. also, have them milled to about 60cc's and i think a good cam would be the G5X2. also, make sure you have all the supporting mods to go with the cam, such as ARP rod bolts or whatever and other stuff like that.

Great idea, called them up And got a quote for a bit more but ifthe flow numbers pan out I feel it's a good deal. My friend said the same thing about the custom spec cam, so that is the way I'll go. Any one got A good write up for pulling the engine? Thanks for the help!

We can help you on every aspect of what your looking to do. We have a FAST intake & TB special I'm putting together as we speak, and we can do the full cnc porting of your castings, or offer you exchange ported LS6 heads for a very reasonable price. You'd be looking right around $700 for complete machining of your castings! From there we can help you select a TSP camshaft based on your goals!
