no power over 5200
From what i was told my so called zo6 cam might be a 1721 stock small ls1 cam [ 470 in and 460 lift ex ] . When the car dynoed it fell on its face at 5200, would this be from the cam or the stock ls1 intake

im not sure really... i mean i have driven several stock ls1 and/or ls6 powered cars and they all pulled hard all the way to around 6k. 5200 sure seems pretty wierd. its always a guess just buying "so called parts" anyways. there could even be a chance it could be from a 4.8/5.3 ltre also by how much u know about this cam. maybe someone else will chime in and help.

its a stock ls1 short block, very mild ported 241 heads with new yellow springs. stock ls1 intake, 1 3/4 long tubes, 4000 stall 3:55 gear.
i think it was 297 rwhp and little over 300 tq at 5200 and just died from there

That stall will make you peak numbers seem alot lower then what they atcually are, but then again 297 hp is weak.
If you can, post up a pic of the graph, does it fall like valve float or fuel related? A/F ration right ? Was this a dyno tune?
If i remember right my tr 224 cam which is bigger then the z06 ls6 cam was only peaking at 5800ish, but it was still only a steady downfall from there, was able to shift it at 6,300 rpms for best results. How does the car feel? get on it and does it run good, or like you say fall on its face when making a wot run on the street.
Don't forget, overlooking the small things can get ya sometimes, these ful filters in these cars like to get dirty and slow fuel flow.
Also that stall is going to want alot more cam then the z06 cam, try something in the 230 range alot of those cams will still give you decent mileage but great power on top of that.
