Are you running regular street tires? If so I had the same problem. A set of DR's will fix that problem.

Not exactly an internal engine section issue, but I can give you an answer anyway. The cheapest way to partial fix the wheel hop problem is to get drag bags for the rear springs. Tires as mentioned plays a role too. Other partial cures include new Lovells or Pedders springs and shocks, diff insert, and crossmember bushings. The best option is to get the Gforce anti-wheel hop kit which consists of two heavy duty half shafts, one is bigger and heavier than the other. It works, GM did something similar on the 2010 Camaro too. Lots of people on LS1GTO forum have used these and reported great results.

DRs helped me alot under moderate hard launches. drag bags will help. theres alot of options. check out some sponsors that specialize in suspensions.

I had an '04 GTO. I had the same issue. I did a set of drag radials, drag bags, and a pedders urethane diff bushing. This helped quite a bit. But I am afraid you will never completely get rid of the issue without a complete suspension package. It is just the nature of IRS.
