Default Snap Rings in Lifters?

I got some low mileage LS7 lifters today, and noticed that it had snap rings instead of the normal C-shaped clips. I have never seen this before. Is this common? Should I run these lifters as is or put the C-clips back in? Thanks!

Not a problem, the snap ring ( also called a support ring) actually has more support for the lifter cup than the standard wire ring, wich only has 4 points of contact. If it makes you feel better my new morel lifters have snap rings in them.
