Piston/Rod Suggestions?
Hey guys, I will be going with a power adder of some sort early summer of this year not sure yet whether it is going to be an FI set up or a N2O set up just yet.
N/A my car puts down 462/418, and if I am going to do a power adder I want it to be worth the time and effort, that being said FI on stock internals the way my car sits I would have to run low boost = no fun and nitrous I probably wouldn't feel safe spraying over 100, so I want some input on forging the motor.
Obviously I realize that ultimate piston selection will depend on which power adder I go with but for a car with low miles like mine would I be ok with just doing a good set of rods, and a quality set of forged pistons, some good rod bolts, while leaving the crank stock (I have heard it is a strong piece). Would I need to add some billet main caps or anything else to help fortify the bottom end?
Also what would I expect to pay at a reputable shop for installing the pistons, rods, rod bolts etc.
Thanks!
Jeff
