Cold start whistle and whine???
On a cold morning start the car will whistle/whine between 1200-2200 rpms for about 20 sec. Sounds just like a turbo but I checked and Santa didn't sneak one in on me. Doesn't really sound like an alternator, I'm puzzled

Sounds like it could be a hole in the air induction somewhere if its a whistle. Then depending on how old the belt is, it could be worn if it a whine!
Something else to check.

the air pump makes that " spoolin up" noise it happens mostly when you first start the car its vrrrrrrrrrrrrr kinda sound...if you want proof pull the air pump relay and the noise will quit..but the SES light will need reset after that...
