my starter fell off my 1999 ls1 camaro . Ended up being that the part where the starter bolt connect to the block broke.so now im only able to bolt on one bolt and the other part where the other bolt goes only has half the groove on it. how can i fix this with out having to repace the whole engin? can i weld aluminum?? maybe a costom braket??
thanks.

This has happened to several guys in the past and I think some were successful in the repair. I don't remember the fix but a search may turn something up. Check the external section as well.

Have a stud welded in place of the missing bolt. Aluminum can be welded. Finding someone willing to do it may not be easy, but it beats replacing the engine or block.

Is the part that broke off enough to where it's weldable..?
