Default need info on ls based engins

Ok as trying to search on this site it won't let me use more than 3 word search criteria so i can't search as much as i thought i would be able to so unless that's fixed i'm stuck having to ask it in a post.

can you swap ls6/ls1 parts between each engine ? for instance can i put ls6 heads on a ls1 ? or vice versa ? not that i'd want to put ls1 heads on a ls6 but you get my point.

the reason i'm asking this is I plan to get a ls1 and do a darton mid sleeve setup for a 427cid engine and well i have yet to find any post about what heads to use and i came to see that absolute speed offers porting for larger bores and it seems ls6 heads flow better than ls1.

then comes my next question is... does anyone know the flow numbers of the 90mm fast lsx intake ? if i were to get a 320cfm ls6 head to match 4.125 bore would the lsx intake be able to feed the hungry beast ?

LS1 and ls6 heads are interchangable. The blocks are practically identical, with a few very minor differences. All 2002+ ls1 blocks are identical to ls6 blocks, but ls1 and ls6 heads are still different castings.

Ported ls6 heads generally flow a little better than ported ls1 heads, so where money isnt as much of a concern, LS6 heads are the better choice.

Nobody really knows much besides marketing info on the LSX intake, wait till it hits the market and we'll know more for sure. As of right now its all just guesses and marketting. People run 427's all the time with stock intakes, so anything better will only help.
