New LS1/7 GEN III motor won't start Can't get new motor to start. Replaced an LS1 in a 2002 Camaro with a Warhawk 427 all top shelf internals. We have compression, we have fuel, we have spark, the injectors are working,the ECM is good and flashed so the motor should at least run, we have the correct reluctor and new, correct sensors. My son died and left me with this project. When it cranks there is popping in the exaust. it seems to be timing. Any ideas would be helpful. I'm lost with the new style small blocks, I'm lost without a distributor. Thanks,
