Stp as assembly lube?
I used stp as lube to assemble my Ls1. Was this safe? I'm now getting the impression from some other threads that I may have been wrong in doing this. Any input would be appreciated.

What do you mean STP, Oil, tranny fluid, fuel injector cleaner??? If you used just the oil, alot of folks use oil, I use clevite assembly lube, mainly because it will not run off and it will stick to the bearings until I get the engine in the car and up and running.
To be sure before starting the car, pull the clips off for the coils, then the fuel pump fuse and turn the car over until you start to see oil pressure on the gauge., If you are really worried pull the valve cover and turn the car over till you see oil coming out of the pushrods.
This will be alot easier on the motor and battery if the spark plugs are out of the car.
