Looking for New Cam Ideas
Hello,
I am currently running the mods listed in my sig (TR224-112, Macs, LS6 intake, P&P 243's, 3400 stall) and, since I struggle at +5000' of elevation, I am interested in going with a cam that may yield a bit better power/tq under the curve. Honestly, if I could get a significant increase, I would like to ditch my N2O. $7/pound for spray is a joke here. I would even upgrade to a 90/90 if it would help enough.
Anyway, I was originally looking at the TR-230/224, thinking it may help with intake at my elevation. Is that flawed thinking?
Thanks

Any comments would be helpful. I have been reading the other posts about reverse split cams, El Torro etc but can't seem to get any feedback on dealing with elevation. I can get to ~85 kpa on a good day at an AFR of 13:1. The TR224-112 has been a great cam but I know there is more hp/tq out there for me with a custom cam and possibly a 90/90.
Will a 90/90 even help if I am only getting 80-85kpa? These are the particulars I am looking for.
I do my own tuning and I do all of my own work. I'm not a pro but I get it.
Thanks

Ive been looking at the old man cam from TR lately. I read a post from Pat G that he wrote a while back saying he liked it a lot more then the TR 230/224. I PM'ed him yesterday about the cam but he has not gotten back to me yet.
