Default smoking...... WTF

ok... looking at buying a ls1 camaro 98 6spd

it smokes.. white smoke

starts right up runs fine doesnt knock revs fine..


guy said it blew or blows the dipstick out and blows oil out of the dip stick tube... thus the engine is covered in oil.... and it smokes... rings? pcv system? head gasket?any ideas????

from what i can tell headers y pipe egr air deleted lid different maf..

sounds like its got some blow by. Possibly bad rings. But if its burning oil the smoke should have a blueish tint to it.

Blue = Oil
White = Coolant/Water
Black = Fuel

That car has issues.

BTW, the real reason I posted is I saw your signature pic and was curious to see more; that SS actually looks badass "Murdered out" and I never thought I would say that about any car (except maybe the CTS-V)!

Agreed blow by which means rebuild and maybe a blown HG too....

lol thanks i have a ton of pics somewhere.. and its not my car one im looking at buying.. didnt know if it was some stupid pcv system thing or if it needed over hauled...

All things considered, that car has issues and I would personally walk away unless the deal is exceptional and the rest of the car is in good shape.

it might have a busted or leaking oil pickup tube. does it get bad oil pressure?

ya know i didnt look... but the car is rough... think ill try to get his rims and walk on it
