Default Quick question about h/c install.

Hi guys. I am waiting on an asp pulley and i was wondering if I could bolt down the timing cover without putting the pulley on. I am in the middle of my install and I am waiting on my asp pulley and on ls1howto it says not to bolt down the timing cover before i put on the pulley is that true? thanks guys

This is because you can use the pulley to help center the cover, as the gasket/seal on the front of the cover will semi-center itself on the pulley. You could always just bolt up the cover, and re-loosen it once the pulley arrives.

Leave the timing cover loose for the reason nineball stated. Its a 3 minute job, so just put it off until the pulley is on, unless there is some other reason you had for needing it bolted down.
