Question Rocker arm problem

I'm new here but one of my buddy says there are some knowledgeable people on here that can help me. I'm building an LS1 for an S10 swap I'm doing. I bought a set of CAT performance rockers for a steal. Apperently you get what you pay for because I had to clearence the rail on the heads to get them to fit. Is this common with adjustable rockers one these. 853 heads BTW.

I'm attaching the link to some pics. The rocker on the left has the 7.4 pushrod and is sitting below the rail and the one on the right has an adjustabe pushrod setup for the shortest length I could use without hitting the rail.

As you can see, if I use a longer pushrod, I'm running on the outside of the valve.

Has anyone ever had to clearence a head for this before? How do you get your valve covers to seal?
