Catalytic Converter Warranty For those who are having problems with their cats, be aware that the extended warranty is running out on the extension to 10 years.
Also, if you call Pontiac Customer Service, be aware that they will give incorrect information if you are not careful.
I called them this morning, gave them the TSB #05513 relating to this problem. They had trouble finding it, and then proceeded to tell me that my car wasn't covered because of age and that every car in the VIN range listed in the TSB isn't covered. Then it comes out that at least one of the cats on the car was replaced at 69,000 miles under the warranty. They still refused to cover the cats.
Knowing that my car was within the service date range, well within the mileage range, and that at least one had been covered before, I found the GM Corporate # and talked to John Russell. He confirmed that the car was still covered and that I should get it to a dealer quickly as the service date cutoff was approaching.
For those who have need, here is the GM Customer #, 313-667-5000. Don't let Pontiac CS tell you no!
