Is the 370 iron block an LS1 or LS2 based motor?
I blew up my LS1 346ci engine recently. Looking into options. I've seen a 370 Iron Block listed through several engine building companies as an LS1 and an LS2? Confused....

The iron block has cam and crank sensors like a LS1. It will be missing two bolts in the face of the block that bolt the accy drive on, one of them can be drilled and tapped for Fcar accy drive. Many people have used these in Fcars over the years.

The LQ9 and LQ4 blocks are direct replacments for the LS1. The LY6 iron block that they put in the newer heavy duty GM trucks has VVT and the LS2 ECM extensions are needed to swap to this motor.
