Default Faulty MAF ??????

02' 6.0 cold air intake, stock MAF , flowmaster 40's, walker hi- flow cats

ok, ive been having lean misfire and everything else checks out ok but i still have almost white ( lean sparkplugs )

My MAF readings at idle ( warmed up ) are .98- 1.05 lb/min which translates to 7.6 grams per second. seems kinda high for an idle to me. as i understand it should be down around 5.5 g/ sec they do go alot higher under accelleration as they should but i regularly see 20 lb/ min at 2200rpm normal????

go to your local part store and pick up a can of maf cleaner. if you have a oiled air filter sometime some oil can get on the maf and throw it off

well just did a quick test and with the engine at idle and up to temp i unplugged the maf and rpms dropped briefly but not by much, not too much different ( no sputtering /popping ) it also seemed to smooth out some and on my scan tool i noted that my fuel trims were in the negative range for the first time ever ( STFT's were around -7 give or take and LTFT's were very close to zero. ) when plugged back in the rpms raised by 100rpms,

so what would everybodys take on this be??

thats what i thought !
i took it for a drive with it un plugged, smoother power but idle dropped low on decelleration ( i assume its cause its in speed density mode ) but once i was in park it picked back up to 550 rpm idle . with it plugged in the problem seems to be worse when the engine is up to temperature. guess ill be buying a new maf on monday
