Are you required to change anything besides the lifters or are they just stock replacement lifters(Bolt on type deal)?

Replacement lifters I believe. Just gotta take the heads off. The ones I'm looking at have 4000 miles on them.

i would think comp Rs since they dont have any ability to collapse would be good indefinately provided the bearings stay oiled and the roller doesnt become scared

They should last as long as stockers. They are basically drop in, but you might have to change pushrods or shim the rockers because they like less preload.
