LQ4 with l92 heads, what cam will clear pistons
I am trying to get a ballpark on what cam will fit the lq4 with l92 heads. I dont want to have to flycut the pistons right now. Looking for a good performance cam for drag racing and some street driving. thanks This is in a 67 chevelle with 4l80e and 3500 stall. 4.10 gears

Are you going to mill the heads any or run a thinner gasket to get a bump in compression?

You can get right at 10.0:1 by milling them to 67cc or so and running the stock GM MLS gasket.....that's only about .015" milling. At that point you can easily clear our Texas Speed 229/236 LS3 camshaft without needing to flycut your pistons! That would work very well with your stall and gear combo as well!
