Default 5.3 question?

I have a 2003 silverado 1500 w/ 5.3 litre, only mod is a airaid jr cai... Anyways I installed a stock ported tb and the throttle response was night and day difference, wich is nice... but the problem is now it high idles and the shifts points are off part throttle. When I start the engine the rpms jump to 2k then come down. Is this because of it being electronic throttle? Will a tune fix this? I went ahead and cleaned/ reinstalled the stock unit and everything is normal. Tried a search for about 30min could not find anything about it. Thanks!

maybe the maf is dirty or going out??? my ranger did this for about 2 months and then began to idle constantly at 3000 RPM. ended up being the maf. may try to get some maf cleaner and clean yours. it might not fix the problem but if it does you spent like 200 or so less dollars than getting a tune. if it doesnt, then youre only out 4-6 dollars or so. hope this helps

ill give it a try! I still find it kind of funny that it acts fine with the stock unported tb.

Update*
Found out all I needed to do was Reset the pcm. The electronic ported tb works perfect now!
