Default 02 5.3 questain

hey guys hows it going, im new to site because i have a few questains. i can get a 2002 5.3 out of a tahoe for a thousand bucks with trans computer wiring and all. anyway i wa wondering if this sounds like good deal or not and is this an easy motor to put in a 70 c10? also was this a decent engine or not. should i keep looking for a better transplant? i do have experiance with swapping out to newer fuel injected motors and understand the work load and what i am in for, i just wanted to hear from people who maybe have some experiance with this motor. thanks

Welcome to the site. The 5.3 is a great motor and is very mod-able. There is a wealth of information here. I recommend that you check out the forum for conversions/hybrids:

I say you're getting ripped. I got my '01 5.3 complete, for $500, and my '01 LQ4 6.0L, complete, for $800. Both from www.lkqcorp.com. They're nation-wide. And they give a warranty.

Aside from the price, it's a good deal. I'd try to get them down a few hundred.
